I'm not so sure, I mean yeah of course the physical side is the easiest factor to figure out in a relationship, but is it really essential as you claim? For instance, cant you learn to love someone over time? With arranged marriages for instance. Is that not proof that pleasure and physical connection is not needed at least in the short term?

And what about intellectual, spiritual and emotional connection? Arent those also pretty important in lovemaking.

And what about people who have relationships with no lovemaking? Does that make their relationship disessential?

What about people who prefer pain in lovemaking? My friend Jason likes to be injured and get bruises, does that mean he does not have a real relationship.

Clearly you have sparked my interest and I eagerly awaited your response to the above questions.... I'm just not sure that your portrayal of lovemaking and relationships is really comprehensive and accurate.
